Keep click and collecting service going: with changes

Homeware retailers in Scotland will be allowed to continue to operate click and collect service under new lockdown rules coming into force on Saturday, but changes will have to be made.

Homeware stores are among a small group of retailers that will be able to continue with click and collect, but they will have to introduce appointments to avoid queuing and shoppers will not be allowed inside the store to collect their order.

Separately the new rules have created confusion over carpet and other flooring fitting.

Under the new rules visits to individuals’ homes will only be allowed for ‘maintenance, upkeep and functioning’.

The Scottish government has been contacted if fitting meets the criteria.
