Kidderminster Golf raises £20,000 for charities

This year’s Kidderminster Carpet Manufacturers Golf Tournament saw a leap in fundraising and raised £20,000 for charities.

The event – first held at the Kidderminster Golf Club in 1957 – saw higher attendance and sponsorship, leading to a 16% jump in fundraising. These funds will be distributed amongst MacMillan and a number of charities local to Kidderminster.

The Tuesday event was won by Instarmac and Wednesday’s tournament by Altro.

‘Next year, due to a clash with Flanders Flooring Days, we have moved the dates slightly, to 2-3 June. Hopefully this will encourage greater participation in the event,’ says Mie Dobson, the event’s joint organiser.

‘Shaun [Lewis] and I would like to thank everyone for their continued support for this event. To achieve such a growth in revenue in difficult times is a great testament to the loyalty shown by so many people in the flooring industry and will make a huge difference to so many people touched by the charities.’
