Middle East move for The Conran Shop

The Conran Shop has opened a store in Kuwait’s largest shopping centre.

The move has seen it open a 6,747sqft unit in Phase 1 at The Avenues, among the home and design section of the centre.

Set behind a custom oak store front, The Conran Shop Kuwait was designed using a characteristically The Conran Shop material palette of oak, concrete and ribbed glass.

Products were selected by the chain’s UK buying team and Sarvi Baharloo, creative director of Al-Dhow, The Conran Shop’s Middle East partner. Similar to the brand’s London flagship branch, products are presented within roomsets to provoke the feeling of a home, along with specially designed areas for the lifestyle and gifting collections to inspire and aspire to Kuwaiti customers.

‘The inspiration and appeal of our founder, Sir Terence Conran, is truly global and our product collections should be enjoyed by design lovers worldwide. It has been a pleasure working with Sarvi and the wider Al-Dhow team to bring the brand to the region. They have displayed incredibly high standards and focus on building a The Conran Shop that is relevant to the local consumer, exceeding expectations whilst remaining true to our brand values,’ says Peter Jenkins, The Conran Shop ceo.

‘The Conran Shop has always been a must-visit destination for me whenever I go to London. It’s a special place where you can explore the latest design trends and find truly unique objects. We are thrilled to introduce the brand in the Middle East, starting with our inaugural store in Kuwait, where the clientele is known for its avantgarde taste and appreciation for art, lifestyle, and timeless pieces. The brand has a strong following in the Middle East and we are excited to introduce The Conran Shop’s curated offering to design enthusiasts in the region. The store at The Avenues is beautifully designed to give visitors the true essence of the brand, and we recently launched a localised website which will enable the wider region to enjoy the brand and its unique product collections,’ says Baharloo.
