Marks & Spencer has turned to Ikea for its West division stores director, as part of its efforts to concentrate on ‘bigger, better’ branches.
Marsha Smith, Ikea UK and Ireland country deputy retail manager will take up her role in September.
‘I’m thrilled to be joining the team at M&S – an incredible brand I’ve always felt a strong affinity for. I’m looking forward to leading the team to build on the impressive performance over the last few years and ensuring customers continue to be delighted by our fantastic offer,’ says Smith.
She joined Ikea in 2004 as customer service manager in the Birmingham store before becoming store manager in 2011. Three years later she became manager of Ikea Dublin and in 2017 moved to run its Canadian operations (pictured).
