Apprentices and trainees at FITA, NICF, Derwentside College, Gower College, and Optimum Skills, are now undertaking their training using Roberts tools and Fento knee protection as the brands look to play a role in encouraging and supporting the next generation of flooring fitters.
‘The industry faces a skills shortage, so the work of training providers like the NICF and Optimum Skills is vital in ensuring that flooring has a future of qualified and skilled installers. It only seems right that we give something back and let the next generation learn with some of the world’s best flooring tools in hand. Our partnership with Fento means their knees and backs are well protected from the very first day too, so that they can build a lasting career,’ says Tom Connelly, Roberts category manager.
Roberts, part of QEP, is the UK distributor for the 25-year old Dutch protection brand, established by sailmaker René van Rijn and physiotherapist Geert Kaal after van Rijn was unable to find a knee protector that prevented his knee and back problems.
