Northern Big Shots raises £3,500 for charity

The Northern Big Shots clay pigeon shooting event raised just over £3,500 for industry charity The Furniture Makers’ Company.

Eight teams took part at Catton Hall Shooting Ground, Cheshire earlier this month. The winners were: novice gun: Yuliia Ivanova: 55/80; intermediate gun: Gary Sprawling: 54/80; experienced Gun: Giles Hough: 73/80; top gun: Tom Prestwich: 73/80; top team: Panaz: 211 and unbroken clay: Phil Eames: 27/80.

A shoot-off was needed to split Hough and Prestwich (pictured) for the top gun honour, with Prestwich presented with a special trophy created in memory of Mark Bedford.

Thanks were extended to sponsors, including Sealy, and to Phil Hopkins of Essential Soft Furnishings for generously providing the raffle prizes and trophies. Hopkins has organised the event for the past four years and now steps down from his role.
