Northumberland independent flooring retailer Northern Carpet Supplies is to move to a new store after almost four decades.
After 38 years on Ashington’s Station Road, it will open a unit on the town’s Alexandra Enterprise Centre, just over a mile away, next month.
‘My father built the business, he was brought up in sales from a kid in an old flooring shop in Ashington then did so well he went on his own. Business has been booming ever since so we just had to take that leap because we are struggling in a small shop now,’ says Ant Carruthers NCS owner.
‘It’s exciting but also scary and a bit emotional for me and my dad. I remember from being 14 years old being brought up in the shop.
‘Our customers are amazing and we get some lovely comments from them, we wouldn’t be where we are today without them.’
The new premises will open on 18 April.
