Not such a Snug fit

ScS is closing down its Snug brand, less than two years after buying the sofa-in-a-box brand.

The chain had closed all of Snug’s standalone branches and relocated displays to its own branches and garden furniture and upholstery retailer Bridgman.

Existing orders are being fulfilled but new orders are not being accepted and stock has been sold.

ScS had ‘decided to focus on a different business model and range which is now available to buy in new SCS stores,’ according to Snug’s website.

ScS bought Snug from administration in January 2023 for £875,000 after Snug collapsed with debts of £4m.

ScS owner Poltronesofà has invested in the core chain, revamping 38 of the 114 branches to the latest format. In the summer it left the fitted-flooring market, which had generated about £30m of sales for it.
