Italian furniture brand Rimadesio has recorded its best half-year of trading since its foundation in 1956.
Orders jumped by 34% on 2020 and 17% on 2019 to reach €36.8m.
2019 had been a record year for the company, with sales of €61.6m.
Domestic sales rose by 12% compared with 2019, and international orders by 21% compared with 2019.
‘Signals from the market are very encouraging, despite the exceptional nature of the period that makes it complex to formulate long-term forecasts,’ says Luigi Malberti, Rimadesio cfo.
‘Today we are rewarded by some far-sighted choices, such as investments in computerised 4.0 machineries; a production cycle with low environmental impact powered by solar energy; the use of recycled and recyclable materials such as glass and aluminium, but above all a 90% Italian supply chain, 71% of which is located in Lombardy, with zero-kilometre processing that exceeds 60%.’
Recent constant growth in sales has led to a direct increase in staff numbers, with employees increasing from 189 in 2018 to 230 in 2019 and 257 in June 2021.
In February 2020 it opened it London showroom.
