Shoreditch Design Triangle, the largest London Design Festival District event, has been sold in a deal that ‘ensures a bright future for it as it continues to grow.’
SCP founded SDT in 2008, as a small, local initiative to help promote Shoreditch as a key area for design in London, and to give a platform for young and emerging designers who were a part of the local community. Over the following 17 years, the event grew beyond all expectations, and in 2024, the area hosted 60 different independent design events during the London Design Festival.
Showcasing a wide spectrum of creative endeavours; from furniture, product and lighting, to interactive installations, cultural curiosities and new talent collectives, SDT is now well established as the key destination for both visitors and brands during the London Design Festival.
After the 2024 edition, Media 10, Clerkenwell Design Week organiser and Icon and OnOffice publisher, approached SCP to discuss a potential deal. For the 2025 Edition of SDT it will introduce the Design London showcase to the area, across four venues.
As part of the deal, Duncan Riches, SCP editor, who has been heading-up SDT for the past two years, has become the official event director. ‘I’m thrilled with the prospect of developing the potential of the Shoreditch Design Triangle, and looking forward to making the 2025 edition a memorable one,’ he says.
‘It has been a truly collective effort, which has relied on the generosity, passion and intelligence of SCP staff, designers, event participants, sponsors, local businesses, developers, couriers, printers, sign-writers, and many more. None of it would have happened without a wonderful audience, one that is truly attuned to the finer points of design, and whose engagement with Shoreditch Design Triangle has been nothing short of inspirational,’ says SCP.
