Sibast Bent deal sees consolidation continue

Consolidation of the Scandinavian design sector has continued, with Sibast Furniture adding Bent Hansen to its portfolio.

The combination of the cabinet maker and upholstery producer ‘takes place with the ambition to create an even stronger and more versatile platform founded on craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design. The decision to join forces is built on a shared respect for Danish furniture tradition and a desire to offer customers a more complete design experience,’ according to the company.

‘A united team of visionary people stands behind this step. Michael Ring, owner of Stelton and the future Sibast chairman, together with businessman Jesper Wadum, have played a central role in establishing the foundation for this union. At the same time, Henrik Hvid Hansen, former Bent Hansen ceo, will continue within Sibast Furniture and enter into close collaboration with Anna and Ditlev Sibast in the management. The ownership structure will consist of Anna and Ditlev Sibast as principal shareholders, alongside the companies of Henrik Hvid Hansen, Jesper Wadum Nielsen, and Michael Ring. Together, two proud design histories merge into a new joint narrative of Danish design heritage carried forward by Sibast Furniture,’ it says.

‘We are excited for this new journey, where together we can continue and further develop the legacy of both Bent Hansen and Sibast Furniture. It is a unique opportunity to bring the best of two traditions together and create the framework for new, strong design stories,’ say Anna and Ditlev Sibast.

‘I am proud to see the company my grandfather founded become part of Sibast Furniture. Together we stand stronger, and I look forward to carrying Bent Hansen’s designs into a new and strengthened context, where the great potential embedded in the legacy and expertise of both companies can be realized,’ says Henrik Hvid Hansen.
