Sleepeezee has donated mattresses and divans to the newly opened Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy, at the University of Kent in Canterbury to support the new research facility.
The donation will help the clinic to continue its research into the link between sleep hygiene and Parkinson’s symptoms, as well as providing comfort for individuals participating in studies.
Sleep disturbances are a common challenge for people with Parkinson’s, often exacerbating other symptoms and impacting overall quality of life. By contributing these mattresses, Sleepeezee is helping advance efforts to improve sleep health for those affected by the condition.
‘We believe that quality sleep is essential for well-being, and we are delighted to have donated mattresses from our Wool Deluxe range to support the vital research at PCIT. We also provided the Sleep Clinic with two of our leading divan bases, with the aim that our donation aids both researchers and participants in their critical work on Parkinson’s and sleep disorders,’ says Steve Warren, Sleepeezee md.
‘We aim to promote healthy sleep through education and personalised, non-pharmacological strategies. We will provide participants with an understanding of sleep hygiene, healthy sleep habits and basic information on how the human body uses external signals to maintain good quality sleep. The kind contribution from Sleepeezee allows us to enhance our sleep study setting, providing the very best environment for our research. Sleep plays a crucial role in neurological health, and having access to a high-quality mattress makes a significant difference in our research efforts,’ says Gurprit Lall, Sleep and Wellbeing Clinic director and professor of Neuroscience – a world-leading expert on biological rhythms and circadian neurobiology.
