The 51st Teesside Golf Day, organised by Barker and Stonehouse, has once again broken fundraising efforts.
The long-running annual event, first held in 1974 by Richard Barker, raised £21,000 for furnishing industry charity, The Furniture Makers’ Company.
took place on Wednesday
More than 80 players gathered at the Catterick Garrison Golf Club, North Yorkshire, which saw a post-lunch shotgun start to the tournament. This was followed by an evening of prize giving, dinner, raffle, and charity auction.
The winners were: 1–9 handicap – Paul Olivier – 35; 10–15 handicap – John Bianchi – 38; 16–28 Handicap – Oliver Keeting – 38; veteran – Peter Mallinson – 33; best team – James Barker, Paul Gundry, Charles Clinkard and Tobin James – 113; best gross – Paul Gundry – 39; nearest the pin – Dave Myles; longest drive – Gareth Williams; best visitor – Richard Parnell – 39 points and best overall – James Barker – 38.
‘We are thrilled that this year’s golf day has raised a record-breaking £21,000. The generosity and enthusiasm of our industry colleagues never ceases to amaze me. The funds will make a huge difference to The Furniture Makers’ Company, whose work we are proud to support,’ says the Barker and Stonehouse md.
Next year’s event takes place on 12 August.
