The Flooring Show: Lifestyle’s focus on POS

Like many exhibitors at The Flooring Show, Lifestyle Flooring’s main focus was on introducing inventive POS for retailers.

Returning to the space it occupied in 2019, it sought to innovate and differentiate through display options.

Primarily among this was the three-tier bookcase stand for laminate samples. Pre-show concerns over the height of the design proved unfounded as retailers warmly embraced the option.

On the other extreme was the mini-play table for creating LVT layouts (think tables by Karndean, Moduleo and – although not for LVT – Crucial Trading’s display tables) but on the size of a normal POS stand.

This was host to two sizes of miniature strips of LVT to allow shoppers to create their own perfect floor design, and then take a photograph: rather than use their phone it initially interact with LVT designs. Even if adults might not engage with the concept for too long in a store offering a multitude of offerings, their children would happily play with it for hours (albeit perhaps on the floor), while their parents made serious decisions. For stores with limited space for a design your floor concept it offers a great introduction, which they could develop at home.

A prototype staircase display with samples on top and stairs below, gave shoppers an opportunity to see how plains and strips would look in their home, without – in the finished version – taking but much retail space.
