TOFS sale ‘on the cards’

Homewares and discount chain The Original Factory Shop (TOFS) is nearing a sale after almost two decades of ownership of private equity firm Duke Street Capital.

Baaj Capital, owner of In The Style and former investor in wholesaler Amscan International, is in prime position to take over the bricks and mortar and online chain according to Sky News. Duke Street has owned TOFS for 17 years but has been trying to secure a sale since 2013.

Frasers Group and Poundstretcher owner Fortress have previously been identified but a deal with Baaj could be confirmed next week, according to the broadcaster.
