Topps looks to higher profits

Topps Tiles has seen record sales for the second consecutive year and raised its profit precast.

The group saw sales increase by 10.6% to £247.3m in the year to 1 October.

The Topps Tiles chain saw like for like sales increase by 9.4%, helped by a successful store closure programme: sales per store are a quarter higher then early 2019.

The group says it now expects profits to be nearer £15m, than the previous range of £13m-£15m.

‘We are delighted to have delivered a second successive year of record sales for the group, with profits expected to be towards the upper end of market expectations. All parts of the group contributed to this performance and are making good strategic progress as we develop and diversify the business,’ says Rob Parker, Topps Tiles chief executive.
