Tribute to Harman brothers ahead of retirement

A tribute has been paid to the brothers behind one of Northern Ireland’s oldest furnishing retailers ahead of their retirement.

Harman Fine Furnishers in Antrim will close this month, following Gareth and Gerard Harman’s decision to retire later this month. Their father Sydney, a skilled cabinet maker, and mother Marie, founded the company in 1962, which then grew into a complete house furnishers.

To mark their retirement Mark Cooper, Antrim and Newtonabbey mayor invited the brothers to the town’s civic centre for tea. ‘Harman Fine Furnishers has enriched the lives of countless residents with their dedication to quality and service over the years. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Harman family for their contributions and wish them nothing but joy and fulfilment in their well-deserved retirement,’ he says.

‘To all our customers, past and present, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support throughout the years. It has been an honour to service this community and we cherish the memories we’ve made together,’ says the brothers.

The store will become a clothing store.
