Furniture and lighting company Umage has become the latest interiors company to achieve B Corporation status.
The Danish company says the certification is a milestone for it since its foundation in 2008.
‘This certification is the result of many years of work to build Umage responsibly, and we are proud to see these efforts recognised through the B Corp certification. It marks an important milestone in our journey to create thoughtful designs, while staying true to our values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and timeless design,’ says Jacob Nannestad, Umage ceo.
‘Sustainability is a continuous journey, and this recognition inspires us to keep improving and contributing positively wherever we can. The B Corp certification affirms Umage’s commitment to responsible growth and marks a clear direction for the years ahead.
‘With this achievement, Umage is one of 186 B Corp companies in the Nordics, all working to redefine what success in business can look like. B Corp, that stands for “Benefit for all”, reflects a commitment beyond shareholders and reinforces Umage’s long-term ambition.’
Businesses must score 80 points or above receive accreditation: Umage received 80.3points after a detailed audit spanning all aspects of the business from product design, material sourcing and energy use to waste reduction, employee wellbeing and community engagement.
