Zimmer + Rohde has revamped its Chelsea showroom, taking inspiration from Victorian townhouses.
Conceived by interior designer Theresa Obermoser, the new interior of the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour showroom gives the space more of an immersive environment than a traditional showroom.
Inspired by London’s history and the character of its Victorian townhouses, soft colour palettes, tactile
surfaces, warm materials and textiles to create an atmosphere designed to balance timeless elegance with modern comfort.
Throughout the London showroom, textiles become architectural elements in their own right. Draped fabrics, space-defining curtains, material displays and individually designed areas guide visitors through the brand’s collections and applications.
‘The intention was not so much to respond to the architecture of the building itself, but rather to enter into a dialogue with British history,’ says Obermoser.
‘With the redesign of our showroom, we wanted to create a space that showcases our textile expertise while fostering connection, inspiration and creative exchange. The new concept is a vision and representation of our brand’s magical world, curated for Britain’s cultural and design heritage, creating a unique experience for our clients and partners from all over the world,’ says Jacob Sloth, Zimmer + Rohde ceo.
