Brighton pop-up for Ikea

Ikea is opening a pop-up store in central Brighton today, ahead of the expected summer opening of its Ikea permanent store.

The unit will open in the Churchill Square shopping centre, which is owned by the group.

It will stock 150 items and offer a click and collect service.

The main store will occupy the former Debenhams unit in the centre. It is expected to open by the end of the summer, but no official date has been revealed.

Ike has also started official adverting for staff for the branch, although some positions have already been advertised online.

‘Our pop-up shop is the perfect spot for customers looking to craft their dream kitchen or storage needs and is an opportunity for us to engage with the local community and showcase our range of affordable home furnishing products. We look forward to welcoming visitors and becoming part of Brighton’s vibrant retail scene,’ says Jacob Bertilsson, Ikea UK area manager.
