Deflation continues for flooring

Retail deflation for flooring continued in March, showing a small rise.

Deflation rose from 1.7% to 1.8%. A year ago inflation was 2.5% one of just two months were price increases rose in the past 13 months, according to ONS data.

Deflation for carpets was static at 1.8%, while for smooth flooring it dropped from 2% to 1.7%.

March 2024 saw inflation of 3.8% for carpets and deflation of 2.2% for smooth flooring: which has seen no inflation in the past 13 months.
