Charity auction surpasses target

A festive online auction organised by The Furniture Makers’ Company has surpassed its target and raised more than £11,000 for the charity.

The Online Christmas Charity Auction, which ran from 6 November to 8 December, featured over 20 exclusive lots, showcasing the best in furniture, experiences, and unique collectibles.

The charity was aiming to raise £10,000 from the fundraiser, but thanks to the generosity of bidders, the final total was £11,050.

‘On behalf of the charity, I would like to thank the generous companies and individuals who made our online auction a resounding success, raising an extraordinary £11,000. All the money raised will help fund our charitable activities, our education and training programme and welfare grants for people working in the industry,’ says Jonny Westbrooke, The Furniture Makers’ Company ceo.

‘We would like to thank the following companies and individuals that donated a lot: Abinger Cookery School; Alistair Gough; And So To Bed/ViSpring; Artelium; David Woodward; Debbie Johnson; Ekornes; Ercol; Gary Smith; Gaze Burvill; Gladsome Chartered Surveyors; Graham Marley; Harrison Spinks; HIPPO; Hypnos; the London School of Furniture Making; Lord Mayor of London Alderman Michael Mainelli; Ocee & Four Design; Pro Auction; Sanderson Design Group; SATRA and Sleepeezee.’
