Danish interiors investor Dansk Design Invest has acquired a stake in furniture producer Gejst.
DDI’s investments have included Oyoy, Wehlers, Kodanska, Plauborg and Wabi Sabi.
‘With Dansk Design Invest, we can accelerate Gejst’s development through faster product expansion, increased resources, and more activities. We see a strong partner in Dansk Design Invest, with skilled and experienced professionals who can assist in this journey,’ says Thomas Heunicke, Gejst coo. The company says the deal means it anticipates significant growth, with an expanded product range, increased visibility, and broader distribution. ‘Together with the fund, we can invest further based on our current business model. There are many talented designers, as well as small, medium-sized, and larger design companies that could be interesting to collaborate with, merge with, or acquire. We look forward to an exciting new chapter with Dansk Design Invest,’ says Søren Nielsen, Gejst ceo. ‘We have focused on building a solid business with a strong network of suppliers and partners, as well as high-quality designs. We have worked diligently to fine-tune and prepare for further development and growth. That is why we are very proud that Dansk Design Invest has recognised the potential we have created, and we are thrilled to have them as partners.’ ‘Gejst has a strong foundation and DNA and is widely represented on international etailers and in physical furniture and interior design stores. The Gejst universe is continuously expanding with new high-quality products created by external designers, and we see great potential in further developing this business model. We therefore plan to accelerate development and investments together with the Gejst team in the coming years’, says Christian Christensen, Dansk Design Invest partner.
