Home textiles saw a return of consumer price deflation last month, for the first time in more than a year.
The sector has seen inflation since at least November 2024, but rates of 2.6% in September and 0.6% in October became deflation of 0.1% last month, according to ONS data.
The change was driven by two of the sectors three product areas: bed linen saw inflation of 0.5% become deflation of 0.8% and table and bathroom linen saw inflation drop from 2.2% to 0.4%.
In contrast, furnishing fabrics and curtains saw inflation rise from 0.1% to 0.8%.
