Consumer price inflation and deflation eased for flooring last month.
Inflation for carpets and floorcoverings fell from 1.1% to 1% in November, according to ONS data: the second highest rate in more than a year and just the third time the sector has seen inflation in the past 12 months.
Carpets and rugs saw inflation fall from 1.8% to 1.4%, continuing its familiar pattern of rises being followed by falls and then rises.
Smooth flooring continued to be effected by deflation, but this fell from 3.6% to 2.1%: its lowest rate since April.
