Carpet manufacturer Ege has boosted its senior management team as it looks to develop its global ambitions.
Mia Dalgas has joined from Flos B&B Italia subsidiary Audo Copenhagen as group chief brand and marketing officer, while Dan Nielsen will join from & Tradition on 1 April as group chief product and development officer.
‘With Mia and Dan, we are gaining two experienced leaders with strong competencies in brand development and product strategy, respectively. Together, they will help strengthen the interaction between design, product and market, thereby supporting our international ambitions,’ says Claus Beier, Ege director.
Dalgas will be responsible for further developing Ege Carpets’ brand and international positioning with a particular focus the customer journey, including digital presence. She was at Audo for eight years, in charge of its brand transformation and merger of several companies into a single international brand identity. Previously, she has held management positions at Carl Hansen & Søn and L’Oréal Group and has more than 20 years of experience in brand strategy and ‘commercial anchoring’ in design and lifestyle companies.
‘Ege has a strong foundation with its own production in Denmark, high product quality and a clear design DNA. The potential lies in further strengthening the international brand position and creating even greater coherence between brand, sales and product – always with the customer at the centre,’ she says.
Nielsen will be responsible for all things product, including design and product development, strategic development of the product portfolio and the process from idea to launch.
He is a trained engineer and has worked for more than 25 years at the intersection of design, product development and operations, including the past 20 years in senior roles with responsibility for product development, purchasing and global operations at companies such as BoConcept, HAY│MillerKnoll and most recently &Tradition.
‘I have always been driven by creating products and bringing design to life with a strong commercial focus. This requires close interaction between people and different disciplines – from sales, brand and marketing to design, development and production. I look forward to working broadly within the organisation and with external stakeholders globally to bring together expertise in the design and development of future products that strengthen Eges’ design and sustainability profile and brand and match market needs.’
