Lenley’s Home has marked its ninth decade with a celebratory evening at its Canterbury store.
The event formed part of the furniture and flooring retailer’s 90 year celebrations, commemorating nine decades of family ownership since the business was founded by childhood friends Leonard Watts and
Stanley Adsett, who merged their names to create Lenleys.
The Canterbury and Maidstone retailer is now led by Lavinia Watts and Oliver Greenfield, the grandchildren
of Leonard Watts, after being run by Jonathan, Lavinia’s father for many years.
‘It was incredibly special to see so many people join us to celebrate this milestone. We were overwhelmed by the support shown by our customers, friends of the business, suppliers, local makers and the wider community. Reaching 90 years in business is something we’re immensely proud of, and the event was a wonderful reminder of the relationships and loyalty that have helped Lenleys reach this point,’ she says.
‘As a family business, we’ve always believed that creating homes is about creating connections, and it was fantastic to bring so many people together to celebrate our shared history and look ahead to the future.’
Visitors enjoyed an evening dedicated to design, craftsmanship and community, with live music, offers, a makers market featuring local businesses and interactive demonstrations from Duresta, JAB and Vispring.
