FBoY Innovation win for Fine Bedding Co

Bedding retailer The Fine Bedding Company has won the innovation award at the Family Business of the Year Awards.

Established in 1912, The Fine Bedding Company is now run by the fourth generation of the family. It has embraced cutting-edge technology through the eras, starting with delivering durability for its cruise liner mattresses in 1912, launching its Estonian ecologically friendly factory in 2000, and becoming a certified B Corporation in 2022.

The focus on product seen with the liner mattresses has remained the company’s focus with an emphasis on using responsibly made quality so the bedding lasts: part of the reason for its popularity with consumers and leading hotels.

Sustainability developments have included the development of Smartfil, a high-performance fibre made from recycled plastic bottles, alongside using ethically sourced cotton, biodegradable materials, and plant-based materials where possible. The Estonian factory uses 100% renewable energy and recycles 100% of waste.

Its latest Return to Nature range uses a natural and biodegradable fibre filling and is designed to return to nature at the end of its life.

The awards also saw HSL win the manufacturing award and contract furniture supplier Hill Cross Furniture take home the wholesale and retail award.
