Mark Smith is to step down as ceo of upholstery group TCM Living.
He will be succeeded by Jonathan Fern, TCM Living cfo at the end of the year. Smith will then become vice-chairman.
Fearn joined the Alstons Upholstery, Ashley Manor, AMX Design, Alexander & James and Arlo & Jacob parent in August 2020 from Shoe Zone, where he was cfo.
‘It has been a privilege to grow and lead TCM Living Group, taking my ideas and developing them from humble beginnings over 20 years ago to where the group is today; which is something far bigger and more significant than I ever dreamed of. I would like to thank my colleagues for their hard work, commitment and loyalty and I cherish the lifelong friendships I’ve made along this journey. My passion for the business and the people in it is as strong as ever, which is why I am so pleased to be able to retain my involvement through my upcoming new role as vice chairman,’ says Smith.
‘I feel honoured to be taking on the position of ceo and I am very much looking forward to continuing to build this excellent business alongside our great employees and colleagues. In my role as cfo, I have very much enjoyed working alongside Mark as well as each and every individual within the business, and I am confident that we will continue to drive the group forward as we continue to establish ourselves as market-leaders,’ says Fearn.
‘On behalf of myself and the group, I would like to thank Mark for his unerring commitment, enthusiasm, and hard work as ceo of TCM Living, successfully leading the business over the past 20 years. Under his leadership, the group has expanded and grown from strength to strength, broadening customer appeal through acquisitions and partnerships, and creating a robust platform for long-term growth. I have no doubt that the succession period will run smoothly and look forward to continuing to work closely with Jonathan, building on his substantial contribution to the group’s progress as cfo over the past year,’ says Pimol Srivikorn, TCM Corporation chairman.
