Flooring inflation climbed again in June, reversing the fall seen in May.
The rate rose from 8.1% to 8.3%, according to ONS, as higher carpet and rug prices offset a slowdown in increases of smooth flooring.
Carpets and rugs saw an annual rise of 7%, up from May’s 6.1%, while other flooring saw the annual rise slow from 21% to 15.2%.
In June 2021 carpet inflation was 5.9% and 10.7% for smooth flooring.
