Flooring inflation drops but still high

Retail flooring inflation dropped in February but is still near its highest level in the past year.

Both carpets and rugs and other flooring saw a slowdown in price rises, seeing the overall rate drop from 12.2% to 10.4% (the third highest rate in the past year), according to ONS.

Carpets and rugs saw price increases slow from 12.1% to 11.4%.

Other flooring saw increases plummet from 17.3% to 7.8%.
