Flooring inflation leaps

Flooring retail price inflation leapt in August.

The rate rose from 6.4% to 8.1%, according to ONS data.

Carpet and rugs saw the rate jump from 4.9% to 7%.

Smooth flooring saw the rate drop from 16.9% to 15.1%.
