Flooring sales saw a major increase in June, helping but year-on-year sales were still down.
The value of furniture and lighting retail sales in England, Wales and Scotland jumped by 15.4% in June, compared with May 2025, reaching £272.64m, according to ONS data.
Compared with a year earlier, sales were 7.3% lower.
However, total sales for the first six months of the year were 17.25% higher than in 2024 at £1.6bn.
The figures are not seasonally-adjusted, do not take inflation into account and are subject to revision.
