Flooring retail price deflation fell drastically last month.
While deflation continued for the seventh month of the past eight, provisional figures from ONS show it fell from 1.8% to 0.2% in April.
However, the exact pricing behaviour seen during the month is unclear, with ONS unable to provide information for carpet and rugs for the second time in the past 11 months (and for smooth flooring in June 2024), citing a lack of data. In March 2025 deflation was static at 1.8%.
Deflation for smooth flooring increased from 1.7% to 2%.
