Retail furniture sales enjoyed an increase in value in March and the first quarter of the year.
The value of sales was 4.9% higher in March compared with a year earlier and sales for the quarter were 4% up on 2024.
Sales were 2.22% lower than February 2024.
Average weekly sales in England, Scotland and Wales were £298,345,000, according to ONS data.
Average weekly sales for the quarter totalled £896,061,000. This was down by 4.85% on 2023 and 4.4% on 2022. Sales were 36.5% higher than the Covid lockdown effected 2021 period.
The figures are not seasonally adjusted and are subject to revision.
