Ikea opens latest small-format branch

Ikea has opened its third smaller-format retail park store.

The opening of Chester follows Harlow, Essex in July and Norwich in August.

The Greyhound Retail Park store employs 35 staff.

The format is designed to offer a simpler, faster shopping experience for customers, with a reduced in-store product offer while customers can order from the chain’s 12,000- strong product range for delivery or collection in 48 hours.

‘It’s been fantastic to open our doors and welcome the first customers into our new small store in Chester today, and we’re grateful for such a warm reception. We’re so proud to be part of the Chester community and hope everyone feels at home in our new store, whether they’re dropping in to browse, shop, plan their dream spaces, or tuck into our signature food,’ says Andy MacGregor, Ikea Chester manager.
