A new showroom offers product understanding and technical support

PC626

For years, sofa beds have largely been viewed as a compromise product: practical, space-saving and functional, but rarely associated with the comfort or user experience expected from mainstream upholstery.

As consumer expectations continue to evolve, companies are increasingly looking for sofa beds that deliver genuine comfort, ease of operation and long-term durability without compromising on design. It is a shift that is driving innovation throughout the category and creating greater demand for high-quality mechanism systems and specialist technical support.

Peter Cook has opened a Sedac-Meral showroom at its recently redeveloped Long Eaton premises to provide the opportunity to experience a wide range of mechanisms first hand and better understand the options available within the sofa-bed market. It hosts a selection of systems from Sedac-Meral, one of Europe’s best-known sofa-bed mechanism manufacturers, including the Nova and Epona ranges, allowing customers to see the practical differences between models and discuss specific requirements with the Peter Cook team

‘The aim was to create a practical environment that supports informed decision-making rather than simply displaying products. We’re seeing increasing demand for mechanisms that deliver a better end-user experience. Comfort and reliability are becoming far more important and customers want the opportunity to see and the showroom gives people the chance to try the mechanisms for themselves, ask technical questions and have more collaborative conversations about what works best for different applications,’ says Carl Pickup, Peter Cook md.

‘The launch reflects the strengthening relationship between Peter Cook and Sedac-Meral as we continue to support the evolving needs of the upholstery and furniture manufacturing sector, and highlights the growing importance of hands-on product experience, particularly as sofa beds move further into the mainstream upholstery market. As expectations around functionality, comfort and durability continue to rise, suppliers and manufacturers alike are recognising the value of closer technical collaboration and better access to specialist product expertise.’
