John Lewis revamps commercial role

John Lewis has seen changes at its top commercial role.

It has appointed Vikki Kavanagh, Net-a-Porter md as its new chief commercial officer. She succeeds Kathleen Mitchell, who had been John Lewis commercial director for the past three years.

Kavanagh will join the department store chain in April and has had previous roles at Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, Fenwick, Very Exclusive and The Outnet.

‘Vikki’s extensive experience and proven leadership in the retail sector make her an invaluable addition to our team. Her strategic vision and commercial acumen will be instrumental as we continue to evolve and enhance our customer offering’ says Peter Ruis, John Lewis executive director. ‘I’m incredibly excited and proud to be joining John Lewis, which is a brand I’ve admired for many years. John Lewis has a unique opportunity to redefine the UK omnichannel retail experience and I’m looking forward to working with the team to deliver an exceptional offer for our customers,’ says Kavanagh.

‘After an incredible journey at John Lewis, I’ve decided to embark on a new chapter,’ says Mitchell. ‘I took some time at the start of the year to recharge with my family and reflect on the wonderful experiences and colleagues I’ve had.

‘We made big moves, delivered results, innovated and positioned the business for the future. Huge heartfelt thanks to the outstanding commercial team and wishing every success to the iconic Partnership.’
