Jay Osgerby is to mentor the next generation of design students at Istituto Marangoni.
Working across workshops and masterclasses, the designer will be a mentor to Istituto Marangoni MA (Hons) Product Design and MA (Hons) Interior Design students, providing feedback and guidance on their projects. He will help to support and shape the future of young talented designers, sharing his experience and imparting knowledge across a broad range of design disciplines, as well as providing hands-on feedback.
Osgerby is one of the most recognisable British names within the international design arena. He met long-term collaborator Edward Barber as students at the Royal College of Art in 1992 and established Barber Osgerby in 1996. Together the designers went on to create a diverse body of work that spans industrial design, furniture, lighting and site-specific installations as well as gallery and public commissions including the London 2012 Olympic Torch and projects for the Royal Mint.
Osgerby has worked with leading global manufacturers including Cappellini, Cassina, Vitra, Knoll, B&B Italia and Flos. Together with Edward Barber, Osgerby subsequently went on to found Universal Design Studio to execute architectural and interior design projects, and Map Project Office, an industrial design studio and creative agency working with major brands and start-ups in the consumer technology space.
