Skirting board specialist FN Neuhofer is passionately investing in the future, product development, new technologies and new business areas. Extruded core skirting boards has been on the company’s wish list for a long time and now it has become a reality,
with the first FN XTRU-pro skirting board rolling off the production line at its new plant in Pöndorf, Austria.
The hall construction is complete, the completely new technical infrastructure is in place and everything is running like clockwork as Neuhofer heralds the era of extruded core skirting board in-house production.
The special feature of this skirting is that it can be punched, which saves a lot of time during processing and at the same time ensures precise processing quality. Inside is a stable MDF core, fully coated with polypropylene. During punching, the extruded film remains completely intact. The result is clean, closed corners for optimum protection.
The soft sealing lips ensure a perfect connection to the wall and floor and guarantee reliable protection against moisture and dust.
‘This makes our core skirting board suitable for use in bathrooms and kitchens. The waterproof version is the safe choice, as its sealed cut edges make it the best solution
for damp rooms,’ says Mihaly Bakti, Neuhofer application engineer.
‘The fireproof version with a fire-retardant surface is unique on the market, offering safety, stability and style.’
Neuhofer has a wide range of solid colours in stock for the cubic (FN TURN-X), rounded (FN ROUND-X), thin (FN LIGHT-X) and profiled (FN SWING-X) skirting boards. As well,
it has a colour matching offer thanks to its state-of-the-art in-house digital printing technology, so every surface is individually manufactured.
‘The result is a brilliant appearance and unique feel. Decors with a real wood character, for example, feel truly authentic,’ says Bakti. Also new on the market is the two- in-one application: Neuhofer’s core skirting board can be turned and used either cubically or chamfered. ‘To ensure first-class quality, we recommend installation with our perfectly coordinated Neuhofer tool system, consisting of a punch and hot glue gun.’
