Planted, the world’s first contemporary design show aimed at reconnecting people and spaces with nature, will launch its flagship physical event at King’s Cross, London in 23-26 September.
Last year’s debut was a hybrid event thanks to the pandemic.
Planted, the world’s first zero-waste design event, will bring together a hand-picked selection of leading sustainable design brands. Based on the principles of biophilic design and in direct response to the global climate emergency, Planted will explore how design, sustainability, food production, architecture and nature can combine to create cleaner, greener, healthier spaces.
It will feature inspiring nature-based installations, leading sustainable furniture and lighting brands, specialist plant nurseries, plant-based food and beauty products, sustainable design solutions and an environmental talks programme.
‘The global pandemic has focused people’s minds on the importance of nature and the need to restore, enable and reconnect with it,’ says Deborah Spencer, Planted event director.
‘The mental and physical health benefits of being immersed in nature are now universally recognised, but at the same time we are losing habitats and biodiversity at a truly alarming rate. Meanwhile many people have severely restricted access to green spaces or indeed no access at all. Designers, architects, manufacturers, producers, landowners, consumers and policy makers all have their parts to play in educating, inspiring and effecting change and as such Planted will partner only with brands and businesses who place sustainability and nature at their core.’
