Retail inflation for furniture edged up in March, reaching 1.2%.
The rate rose from 1.1% to 1.2%, as price increases were higher than a year ago. In March 2024 there was deflation of 2.4%, according to ONS data.
Deflation nudged higher for garden furniture, from 11.1% to 11.2%, although still well off the 23% seen in April 2024.
Deflation headed in the opposite director for lighting, where the rate fell from 3.1% to 2.9%, the third consecutive fall.
