Fabric, wallpaper, soft furnishings and rug group Sanderson Design Group has become the latest company to join The Furniture Makers’ Company, the charity to the furnishing industry as a corporate member.
Dame Dianne Thompson, SDG non-executive chairman; Lisa Montague, SDG ceo and Carla Barnett, SDG HR director, have all been admitted to The Furniture Makers’ Company as SDG’s corporate liverymen and Claire Vallis, SDG creative director, will be admitted at a later date.
Corporate membership provides opportunities for companies to support TFMC’s charitable activities, get involved with civic events and network with other members.
‘It gives me great pleasure to afford The Furniture Makers’ Company our support for its excellent programmes, championing expertise and welfare within the furnishing industry. Our two groups share a common cause; to make our wonderful world accessible to a wider audience by attracting new talent to the sector. Aligning the visions of our two organisations, is, I feel, essential in upholding our mutual values and projecting them into the future,’ says Montague.
‘We are very pleased to welcome Sanderson Design Group as a corporate member and specifically Dame Dianne, Lisa, Carla and Claire as corporate liverymen. We look forward to welcoming them again at a formal ceremony at Furniture Makers’ Hall when circumstances allow. Our corporate members are of the greatest importance to us. We are delighted that so many different companies from the wider furnishing industry understand the importance of joining as members and supporting our charitable endeavours,’ says David Woodward, TFMC master.
