Consumers spent record amounts on furniture and lighting in November.
The average weekly spend on furniture and lighting in England, Wales and Scotland was £361.6m during the month, according to Office for National Statistics data.
This was 9.42% higher than October and 14.34% higher than November 2021.
It is the highest weekly spend recorded in the past 443 months since comparable records began in January 1986. The previous weekly high was £346.6m in October 2020.
Sales were 19.63% higher than November 2020 and 14.51% higher than November 2019.
According to the volume of sales index, where 2019 is 100: 2022 to date is 91.6, 2021 was 86.9.
The figures are not seasonally adjusted, do not take inflation into account and are subject to revision.
