Silentnight becomes B Corp certified

Silentnight has become a Certified B Corporation, marking a major milestone in the manufacturer’s long-term sustainability journey and only the fourth UK bed company to achieve the standard.

B Corp certification is one of the world’s most respected standards for ethical and sustainable business. To achieve it, companies must undergo a rigorous assessment by the non-profit B Lab, demonstrating high performance across five areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customer impact.

Businesses must score 80 points or above receive accreditation: Silentnight received 89.8points after a detailed audit spanning all aspects of the business from product design, material sourcing and energy use to waste reduction, employee wellbeing and community engagement.

‘For Silentnight, the certification is far more than a badge. It represents a formal recognition of values the business has upheld for decades. As the UK’s largest bed manufacturer, we have long prioritised responsible production, pioneering innovations in recyclable materials, reducing reliance on virgin plastics and investing heavily in UK manufacturing. The B Corp process provided independent verification of this progress, while also reinforcing commitment to continued improvement,’ says Tracey Bamber, Silentnight ceo.

‘Becoming a B Corp reflects who we are and how we’ve always chosen to operate. It’s an important milestone that recognises the high standards our teams already live by, and it raises the bar for what we’ll achieve next. As a leader within our industry, we have a responsibility to show that commercial success can sit alongside strong environmental and social values.

‘Retailers, suppliers and hospitality groups working with Silentnight can now demonstrate alignment with internationally recognised ESG standards, respond to growing consumer demand for ethical brands, and benefit from a supply chain partner committed to long-term, sustainable innovation.’

Silentnight will be assessed for recertification in 2028, a process that demands measurable progress. ‘With continued investment in responsible sourcing, and sustainable product development, we to build on its B Corp success and lead the sector towards a more responsible future,’ says Bamber.

Bedaffair, Naturalmat and Simba Sleep are also B Corp certified.
