The storms that hit many parts of the county last week saw a major drop in retail footfall.
Footfall, as measured by Ipsos’ Retail Traffic Index, fell by 5.8% in the week to 19 February compared with the week earlier.
Footfall was down 31.9% on 2019.
High streets saw the largest decline, with numbers falling by 9.5% on a weekly basis and 37.2% compared with 2019. Shopping centres saw drops of 3.2% and 30.7% while retail parks saw a fall of 6.2% and 24.4%.
Across the country the decline ranged from 30% in Scotland and Northern Ireland to 34.2% in Wales and south-west England.
