Wickes seen a major improvement in kitchen and bathrooms sales.
Although design and installation sales dropped by 2.5% to £159.7m in the six months to 28 December, this represented a major turnaround compared with the first half’s 17% fall.
This helped it increase retail sales by 3% to £579.1m in the half, with group sales 1.8% higher at £738.9m.
Wickes now expects its adjusted pre-tax profit for the year to be towards the upper end of its £39.7m to £44m consensus forecast range.
