Carpet and upholstery care brand 1001 has been sold for up to £3m.
Supreme has bought the brand from WD-40 Company for an initial £1.65m, which could rise to £3m depending on future sales.
WD-40 owned the brand, founded in the 1940s, since 2004, with sales topping £8m during its peak years. Sales for the year ended August 2025 are expected to be £4.5m.
‘1001 is a heritage British brand with decades of trust and consumer recognition and we are thrilled to welcome it into the Supreme family. This acquisition highlights our ability to identify and reinvigorate brands with strong equity while leveraging our shared back-office capabilities. We see substantial potential to expand the 1001 range, invest in its growth, and build another successful vertical alongside our existing portfolio,’ says Sandy Chadha, Supreme chief executive.
