The lack of retail annual inflation for furniture continued into its sixth month in February, as deflation returned.
The lack of inflation or deflation for household furniture became deflation of 0.7% in February, according to ONS data.
The sector has not seen inflation since last August, when it stood at 0.9%. Since then it has been either deflation or a lack of inflation and deflation.
Garden furniture recorded another month of deflation at 9%, up on January’s 8.4%. The has only seen inflation – 5.5% in July – once in the past 13 months.
Lighting saw deflation fall to its lowest level – 3.7% – in a quarter.
