John Lewis pulls luxury pillows over Siberian down

John Lewis has removed Siberian goose-down pillows from its stores following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Sales of the £76 pillows were stopped after the department store chain audited products across 35 branches to identify any with a Russian origin.

Staff were told to refuse sales of any bedding described as being stuffed with Siberian down before they were taken off shelves.

John Lewis says it is working with suppliers to review products that have components of Russian origin.

‘As part of this process we’re removing bedding containing Siberian goose down from sale and seeking alternative sources of goose down.’
